While a three-day vacation is hardly enough time to get the full experience of Palm Springs, it’s still enough to give you an idea of what makes this a favorite destination among tourists. The vibe is fun, and the weather is warm and inviting. In fact, everything about this place calls for you to go out and enjoy yourself. Here’s a guide to help you plan your vacation and get in as many Palm Springs attractions as you possibly can in three days.

Aerial Tramway

What better way to get a good view of the whole area than to climb 10,000 feet in the air? Mount San Juanito gives you such a vantage point, but you won’t have to do any climbing. The aerial tramway will take you up to about 8,500 feet, where you’ll get a great view of the desert from the observation decks. There are two restaurants as well so you can enjoy a meal while you’re up there. The hiking trails are a good opportunity to explore the mountain and enjoy more of the flora and fauna in the area.

Palm Springs Air Museum

If you like aviation and history, this is the place to go. The Palm Springs Air Museum has a great collection of planes that saw action during WWII. The best part is these planes are still working. Visit the hangers and get a good look at these planes which can still fly. When the weather gets too warm to be outdoors, the museum offers an escape from the heat outside.

Coachella Valley Preserve

It’s time for more fun outdoors, this time in the Coachella Valley Preserve. You have 13,000 acres of pristine nature and wildlife. You’ll meet plenty of animals here, including great horned owls, lynx, hares, kestrels, lizards, and birds. You better keep your camera or your phone in hand to snap pictures. You can also hike some of the trails here and enjoy some peaceful time on your own.

Moorten Botanical Gardens

More desert flora coming your way. Moorten Botanical Gardens has a great collection of cacti and desert plants. It’s open to visitors all year-round, but the time the plants bloom and the trees have green foliage is when you’ll want to visit.
