When the summer begins to fade from Coachella Valley, it’s a good time to pack up and come to Palm Springs, especially if you’re averse to a little heat. Autumn is a pleasant time of year here, and you’ll find the city alive and bustling with fun ways to fill out your vacation. These are some of the Palm Springs activities we’re most excited about this fall season:

Go on a Downhill Bike Adventure

Now that the summer has passed and it’s not quite so hot outside, you’ll want to get active and experience the area to its fullest. Take a guided tour with Big Wheel Tours through a protected wilderness zone that runs alongside a canal, the San Jacinto mountains, and the famous San Andreas Fault. Since it’s downhill the ride is mostly effortless, and you’ll find yourself wanting to take pictures as you’re riding.

See the Desert from Above

Take the Aerial Springs Aerial Tramway up into the San Jacinto mountains to experience the Coachella Valley from a bird’s eye view. Not only will you get a pleasant change in weather from the valley floor to the brisk mountains, but you’ll get to experience the mountains in the fall. This is the world’s largest rotating tramway, and that means plenty of room to spread out and get cozy on the ride up. There’s an amazing restaurant up there too, so plan to stay awhile!

Attend Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival

Come and join us in watching world-renowned jazz musicians on an unforgettable weekend in October. Find this event at the Annenberg Theater downtown, October 9 – 11, 2019. The landscape is beautiful, but you’ll want something lively and cultural to do here as well, and what better what to do that than by kicking back and enjoying some good, old-fashioned jazz by some of the best in the game?

Go Wild on Howl-O-Ween

For the Halloween season, The Living Desert zoo transforms into a spooky wonderland that’s fun for people of all ages and everyone in the family. Visit trick-or-treat stations, have encounters with the animals, go pumpkin bowling, and get delightfully lost in the monster maze. If you’re coming in October, you don’t want to miss this.
