Splash House in Palm Springs is a three-day music festival that takes place across three different resorts and an event that promises a poolside party from daybreak to dark. Since 2012, event founder Tyler McLean has promoted his vision of what a party in this desert oasis should look like. This year, the Splash House festival brings the music and mayhem to The Renaissance, The Riviera and of course, The Saguaro where it all started. In addition to sun soaked parties held during the day at the resorts, the festival continues after dark with events held at the Palm Springs Air Museum. The festival is held on two different summer weekends in the months of June and August and the line-up of artists only gets better every year.
Most locals in Palm Springs know that The Saguaro Hotel is one of the best boutique properties in the entire Coachella Valley and that it holds some of the most exciting poolside events throughout the year. During Splash House, the variety of DJs is impressive, from dub-step and house to dance and French electro, every party always begins and ends with good music. At the Renaissance, the hip atmosphere around one of the largest pools in Palms Springs is only amplified with the sound of DJs from around the world. The Riviera provides leisure and lounging on lush grounds designed with a nod to towards that inimitable style Palm Springs is known for, Mid-century modern.
Each venue provides package deals; however, most sell out fast since most visitors want to be near the music and all the action. Additionally, the Palm Springs Air Museum holds after hour events in conjunction with Splash House in Palm Springs, however general admission attendees at the resorts have to pay a separate entrance fee.
The Music at Splash House in Palm Springs
At all three of the venues, the music is oftentimes a DJ set with the occasional instrumentation or sound equipment, but rarely will you see a full band or group. Nonetheless, the desert with the majestic San Jacinto Mountains as a backdrop provide the perfect environment to enjoy electronic music. Most of the DJs are up-and-coming artists, but as the years pass, more well-known acts are starting to appear. Some of the past artists who performed at Splash House include Bonobo, Kaytranada, Gorgon City and Duke Dumont just to name a few.
The logistics in moving from one resort to another is easily done with shuttles provided by the resorts themselves, and they even provide a lift to the Palm Springs Air Museum to continue the party on the tarmac. So, if you find yourself in Palm Springs during the months of June or August, try to get a ticket to one of the hottest events of the summer.
