Palm Springs is an attractive destination for numerous reasons, from its in-town attractions like world-class golf courses and live music to the iconic natural features in the surrounding Coachella Valley and San Jacinto Mountains. Palm Springs is a desert oasis in the Coachella Valley. You’ll know you’ve begun your vacation in Palm Springs when you start seeing palm trees! The city is most famous for its aesthetically pleasing modern architecture, unique natural environment, rich arts and cultural scenes, and temperate cold-weather seasons.

Year-Round Sunshine

Palm Springs is one of the most popular ways to beat the cold winter months. While other vacation hotspots slow down for the winter, Palm Springs reaches its prime! The weather is perfect, usually hovering around the 60s with lows in the mid-40s and highs in the mid-70s. Leave behind the sleet and the snow the shivering and spend this holiday in a sunny paradise.

Markets, Shops, and Activities Galore During Your Vacation in Palm Springs

There’s no shortage of places to go shopping, whether you’re looking for scrumptious food to take back to your rental home and cook up for a holiday feast, souvenirs from your Palm Springs holiday, or last-minute presents. Spend an afternoon at The Street Fair at College of the Desert, or attend Villagefest, which recurs weekly on Thursdays. If you find yourself missing the cold for a split second, take your loved one on a whimsical date at The Renova Ice Rink.

Explore the Surrounding Mountains and Coachella Valley

If there’s anything even lovelier than the oasis of Palm Springs, it’s the hidden wonders that await in the surrounding area. Enjoy the nice weather with hikes and bike rides. Take a guided tour or even a guided horse ride into Joshua Tree National Park to see some of the iconic natural features there like the titular Joshua Tree. Ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (the largest 360-degree rotating tramcar in the world) up the snowy winter wonderland of San Jacinto Peak and eat a hearty meal in the warmth of the Peaks Restaurant. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience, and it’s a great way to really make this coming holiday stand out in the photo albums from all the rest. After your day in the magic of San Jacinto, head back into the sunny valley below and take a well-deserved rest in your rental home.

In Palm Springs you’ll find what is believed to be the world’s first memorial for LGBT veterans. This memorial was dedicated back in 2001 in recognition of the various LGBT men and women who’ve served the country over the years. It’s a simple and unassuming memorial, and perhaps easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for. If you care about historical monuments, it’s a great attraction to stop by and spend a few minutes in quiet and grateful contemplation.
