If you’re looking for a live arts performance, look no further than the McCallum Theatre. From musicals to modern dance performances, McCallum Theatre has it all.
One of the best parts about McCallum is its dedication to giving back to the community. The center is dedicated to bringing arts education to youth and to helping budding artists of all ages grow and better themselves. We love that theater staff actually go out to local schools in their Aesthetic Education program. The program reaches thousands of students in 25 local schools.
Budding artists as young as 8 years old from all around the country can audition for the Open Call Talent Project. Celebrate the finalists by coming to the final show in April.
The McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts‘s touring initiative collaborates with other desert art groups to bring theater education including artist residencies, lectures and workshops to schools, libraries and senior homes.
The shows themselves are for all ages. You’re just as likely to see the Lion King as you are the United States Army Field Bands & Soldiers’ Chorus. Other events have included Celtic singers and big-name country stars like LeAnn Rimes, Willie Nelson and Bob Newhart.
The Shows the McCallum Theatre Features
One of our favorite parts about the McCallum Theatre is the rotating selection of National Geographic Live shows. Bring your little ones and be awed and inspired by the words of the storytellers and explorers that actually work for the magazine.
We love that the theater has become a home for jazz artists, too. What is better than a night out in Palm Springs listening to jazz and drinking cocktails?
The McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts lists all the shows in a full year on its website so you have plenty of time to plan your trip and plenty of shows to choose from.
